Marilyn Tahl

Marilyn Tahl brings a distinctive, holistic view of customer experience to the Customer Manufacturing Group. She helps companies achieve their business objectives for websites and marketing by helping them focus on customer needs, understand the interrelationships of, and then effectively execute on, each area that touches the customer. These areas may be customer-facing, internal-facing or both. Her work and expertise helps her clients enhance their market position and strengthen their ties to their customers.

Focusing on the web, Marilyn has helped companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Intuit, Lucent, and Space Systems/Loral develop effective and user-centric inter-, intra- and extranet systems. She has applied her knowledge and talents on projects as diverse as Hewlett Packard's consumer-focused website to web-based applications for Zantaz, a software company creating SEC compliance systems. Marilyn is also adept at Section 508 accessibility and its implications for marketing.

With more than 25 years experience, Marilyn can apply a powerful array of skills to solving client problems. These include user research, information architecture, interaction and interface design, branding and messaging creation, governance modeling, process design and team facilitation. She applies these skills, as needed, on projects ranging from web-based marketing tools, to HR influenced intranets, and web-based software applications. With a background in branding and print, she helps companies capitalize on the strengths of each marketing medium and leverage appropriate messaging extensions and overlaps.

Marilyn is also a strong process advocate and adept facilitator. While managing a company-wide Process Improvement initiative at Space Systems/Loral, she provided training and facilitated critical teams. She is able to bring diverse groups together to achieve what the individual groups could not and is excellent at bridging the gap between marketing and engineering. Marilyn is effective at creating stakeholder consensus by keeping them focused on the customer and the user, not on the technology or the medium. Marilyn's clients benefit from her out-of-the-box thinking and the intense curiosity that informs it. A solid strategic thinker, she excels at making strategies actionable and action plans successful.
